Copenhagen is implementing the Kalvebod Brygge Tunnel to protect against severe flooding caused by climate change. The tunnel can store 10,000 cubic meters of water during extreme rain events, known as cloudbursts, which are becoming more frequent. Construction began in 2020 and is expected to finish by 2027.
