An ancient theatre on Greece's Ionian Islands, discovered in 1901, has finally been unearthed after a century. Founded by seafaring Corinthians, Lefkada was a wealthy port. The theatre, built around the 4th century BC, is the only one of its kind in the region. Rediscovered in 1997, excavations since 2015 have revealed its structure, which could accommodate 3,500 spectators. The discovery is deemed the most significant monument in ancient Lefkada, with parts of stone thrones also found.
