Unions and lawmakers are pushing for stricter measures against Amazon after the company failed to send a senior manager to a European Parliament committee hearing on workers' conditions. Amazon's access to Parliament was revoked due to previous non-compliance. The committee rejected Amazon's alternative representatives, leading to a hearing without the company. Amazon expressed disappointment and suggested a meeting with another executive. Calls for transparency regarding EU contracts with Amazon and stronger actions against the company were made by various lawmakers and NGOs.
