The UK's Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) will be required for millions of international visitors starting 8 January 2025, including citizens from the US, Canada, and Australia. The scheme replaces the Electronic Visa Waiver (EVW) and aims to digitise UK borders by 2025. Europeans will need an ETA from 2 April 2025. Applications can be made online or via a mobile app for a fee of £10. The ETA allows for multi-entry and is valid for up to six months or two years with a UK visa.
