Archaeologists have discovered the oldest known section of the Great Wall of China in Changqing District, Jinan, dating back to the late Western Zhou Dynasty and early Spring and Autumn Period. The excavation covered 1,100 square metres and revealed advanced engineering techniques used by the Qi state, predating the Ming Dynasty wall.
