Archaeologists have potentially uncovered the oldest library in the Iberian Peninsula at the Fuente Álamo site in Puente Genil. Initially thought to be a shrine, the room's layout suggests it served as a library during its peak in the Roman era. This discovery is significant as it represents not only the oldest library in the region but also one of the best-preserved examples from the Roman Empire.
