In December 2021, Peter Heads discovered the Melsonby Hoard, one of the largest Iron Age finds in Britain, containing over 800 objects near Melsonby, North Yorkshire. Experts describe it as an archaeological time capsule from the first century AD, revealing insights into Iron Age life and connections with Europe. Significant items include remains of wagons, ceremonial spears, and ornate vessels, raising questions about Iron Age rituals and society. The hoard is valued at £254,000 and is part of a fundraising campaign for public display.
