Are carbon offsets enough to tackle the climate crisis? This tour operator doesn't think so
Are carbon offsets enough to tackle the climate crisis? This tour operator doesn't think so
Cikk tartalma röviden
Intrepid Travel is discontinuing its carbon offset program to focus on a €1.13 million annual climate action plan aimed at immediate emissions reductions. The company, which has been carbon neutral since 2010, will invest in electric vehicles, renewable energy, and work with suppliers to decarbonize. The effectiveness of carbon offsetting schemes has been questioned, with many scientists deeming them ineffective or harmful. Alternatives to offsetting include taking trains instead of flights to significantly reduce emissions.
