Social media claims that Catalonia has more mosques than churches are inaccurate. Official data from the Catalan government shows 5,665 Catholic churches (78% of total), 889 evangelical churches, and 326 mosques. While there is a growth in Islamic places of worship, churches still outnumber mosques overall. The claims may stem from a far-right politician's comments and misinterpretations of educational programs teaching Arabic and Moroccan culture, which are not solely focused on Islam.
