Astronomers have observed the formation of two giant planets, WISPIT 2b and WISPIT 2c, around the young star WISPIT 2. This discovery provides a rare glimpse into the process of solar system formation, with WISPIT 2 being the second known system to have two planets forming simultaneously. Researchers from the University of Galway and Leiden Observatory utilized advanced instruments to document this phenomenon, which may also hint at the existence of a third planet.
