A Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv resulted in at least 14 deaths and numerous injuries. The attack coincided with the G7 meeting in Canada, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was expected to attend. A US citizen was among the casualties, and significant damage occurred in residential areas. Kyiv's Mayor reported fires caused by debris from intercepted drones. Zelenskyy was scheduled to meet with US President Trump, who unexpectedly returned to Washington. Recent weeks have seen an increase in Russian attacks amid stalled peace talks.
