In Athens, residents are increasingly engaging in urban beekeeping, caring for beehives on rooftops. Nikos Chatzilias, a local beekeeper, shares his positive experiences and the joy of beekeeping, despite some community concerns about bees. The initiative aims to promote environmental benefits and has seen growing interest, with Chatzilias managing 30 hives and producing honey. Residents appreciate the superior quality of rooftop honey compared to supermarket options, and Chatzilias believes Athens is an ideal location for urban beekeeping.
