Rene Benko, the founder of the collapsed property company Signa, has been arrested on suspicion of fraud, including falsifying invoices and hiding assets from creditors. Signa was Austria's largest privately owned property company until its insolvency in July last year. Benko, a self-made billionaire, is known for significant acquisitions like the KaDeWe store in Berlin and the Elbtower project in Hamburg. His lawyer stated that a court will decide on his custody within 48 hours. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
