A man named Jonathan Rinderknecht has been charged with starting a destructive fire in Los Angeles, which resulted in significant damage to the Pacific Palisades neighborhood. The fire, which began on New Year’s Day, was initially extinguished but reignited due to high winds. Rinderknecht was arrested in Florida and faces charges of malicious destruction by fire. Investigators found evidence linking him to the fire, including a lighter in his car. The blaze killed 12 people and destroyed over 6,000 homes. A second fire, the Eaton Fire, also occurred the same day, resulting in 18 deaths.
