Five off-piste skiers have died in two avalanches in Austria's Alps due to heavy snowfall. One avalanche in the Pongau area near Salzburg killed four skiers, while another incident earlier in the day involved a skier being buried. Poor conditions have led to multiple fatalities in the region over the past week. The mountain rescue service reported the incidents and expressed condolences to the victims' families. Additional avalanches occurred, but no injuries were reported. Recent incidents also included the deaths of a 13-year-old boy and a 58-year-old skier in separate avalanches.
