Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland plan to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines due to security concerns regarding Russia. Defence ministers from these countries believe this will enhance their military capabilities. Latvia's Prime Minister Evika Silina and Defence Minister Andris Spruds emphasized the need for flexibility in defense strategies. Lithuania also expressed intentions to increase explosives production. The decision may influence other countries, including Finland, to follow suit.
