Two Belgian teenagers, Lornoy David and Seppe Lodewijckx, were charged with wildlife piracy in Kenya after being found with 5,000 ants. They claimed they collected the ants for fun, unaware of the legality. Alongside them, two others were charged for trafficking 400 ants. The Kenya Wildlife Service highlighted a shift in trafficking trends towards lesser-known species, emphasizing the ecological importance of ants. The case has been adjourned until 23 April.
