Berlin Central Station, one of Europe's largest interchange stations, faces significant issues with 35 of its 52 escalators out of order, affecting around 300,000 daily travelers. The Governing Mayor Kai Wegner is urging Deutsche Bahn to resolve the escalator problems swiftly. Technicians have begun repairs, but the duration of the issues remains uncertain. The escalators' failures are attributed to a technical fault from the manufacturer, raising concerns about passenger safety.
