In Vilnius, Lithuania, a drone threat alert revealed significant gaps in emergency preparedness as residents struggled to access shelters. Rūta Gaškauskaitė faced locked shelters and cobweb-covered facilities, highlighting the need for improved planning. Lithuanian officials, including Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė, acknowledged communication errors and pledged to enhance the shelter system. The mayor of Kazlų Ruda proposed a multi-use shelter to accommodate civilians during emergencies. Despite having thousands of shelters, accessibility issues remain, particularly for people with disabilities, indicating that the state is not fully prepared for emergencies.
