As of early 2024, approximately 44.7 million foreign-born individuals reside in the EU, accounting for 9.9% of the population. This marks an increase of 2.3 million from the previous year. Germany, France, Spain, and Italy host the largest numbers of immigrants, while Luxembourg has the highest percentage of foreign-born residents at 51%.
