The EU has warned of severe consequences if Israel's parliament passes a bill to ban the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) from operating in Israel. EU Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell expressed concern for the people in Gaza and emphasized the importance of UNRWA's humanitarian work. The bill, which has already been approved by an Israeli parliamentary committee, would cut official ties between Israel and UNRWA, which has been providing aid to Palestinians since 1949.
