The European Commission has proposed a plan to enhance the resilience of undersea cables following sabotage incidents in the Baltic Sea. The plan focuses on prevention, detection, response, and deterrence, emphasizing the need for new, durable cables and international cooperation to address security risks. Henna Virkkunen highlighted the importance of these cables for communication and energy integration, noting an increase in suspicious incidents since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
