José and Teresa, both with autism spectrum disorders, found their first job at Café Joyeux in Lisbon, which aims to integrate people with disabilities into the workforce. The café has four locations in Greater Lisbon and employs 29 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing training and opportunities for future employment. Despite initiatives like Café Joyeux, unemployment remains a significant issue for people with disabilities in the EU.
