Can the US turn off European weapons? Experts weigh in on 'kill switch' fears
Cikk tartalma röviden
Concerns have arisen in Germany regarding US control over F-35 fighter jets purchased from Lockheed Martin, particularly the possibility of a 'kill switch' that could ground the aircraft. Despite these worries, the German Ministry of Defence has no plans to cancel the purchase. Experts suggest that while a kill switch may not exist, the US could still restrict the use of the jets by withholding ammunition and spare parts. Lockheed Martin asserts that countries like Switzerland can operate their F-35s independently.
