China is repatriating citizens rescued from scam centres in Myanmar, with the first flight leaving Thailand. This follows a collaborative effort to shut down these centres, which have trafficked many individuals for scams. A senior Chinese official visited the affected areas to oversee the repatriation process, which involves cooperation with Myanmar and Thailand. Approximately 7,000 people are awaiting repatriation, with many coming from various countries. Thailand has also taken measures to disrupt these scam networks.
