'Clearly unacceptable': EU unconvinced by COP29 compromise climate finance proposal 😔
Cikk tartalma röviden
EU negotiators criticized a draft climate finance agreement at COP29 as inadequate, with calls for more concrete commitments from developed countries. Climate commissioner Wopke Hoekstra expressed dissatisfaction with the current text, while campaigners labeled it an 'illusion of progress'. The draft lacks specific financial targets, raising concerns about achieving meaningful outcomes. Despite criticism, some experts noted signs of agreement on key elements. The EU is pushing for transparency in carbon credit rules but demands significant changes before supporting a final deal.
