Commission denies singling out NGOs in green funding row 😔
Cikk tartalma röviden
The European Parliament's environment committee is embroiled in controversy over NGO funding, with the conservative EPP losing a vote against the EU executive's decision to fund NGOs through the LIFE Programme. The Commission acknowledged issues with lobbying activities but emphasized its commitment to civil society. The EPP claims the Commission admitted wrongdoing, while the Socialists & Democrats criticize the perceived pressure from the right. Eurosceptics are pushing for a parliamentary inquiry into alleged corruption related to NGO funding.
