In Écône, Switzerland, four bishops were ordained by the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) despite Pope Leo XIV's appeal against the act, which he described as schismatic. The SSPX, known for rejecting modern reforms of the Catholic Church, defied the Pope's authority, gathering thousands of supporters for the ceremony. This event raises concerns about a potential schism within the Catholic Church, as the Pope is expected to exclude the new bishops from the Church.
