An emperor penguin named Gus was found on an Australian beach, 3,500 km from Antarctica, marking the first sighting of this species in Australia. Discovered by a surfer in Denmark, Western Australia, Gus is believed to have traveled in search of food, possibly due to record-low sea ice levels in Antarctica. He is currently being rehabilitated due to malnourishment, weighing only 23 kg instead of the usual 45 kg for a healthy male.
