An armed gang attack in central Haiti has displaced around 6,300 people and resulted in at least 70 deaths. Survivors described chaos as gunmen attacked homes, leading to looting and arson. Bodies were found in the streets of Pont-Sondé, with initial estimates of casualties rising. Prime Minister Garry Conille vowed justice for the victims. The attack highlights the increasing gang violence in the Artibonite region, which has displaced over 700,000 people, primarily children. The UN and EU condemned the violence, fearing a prolonged instability.
