The ongoing negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy focus on a deal involving Ukraine's mineral wealth. While Trump expresses optimism about the benefits for Ukraine, the European Commission has its own agreements with Ukraine regarding raw materials. The EU's Vice-President Stéphane Séjourné emphasized the importance of implementing existing agreements, while the specifics of the US-Ukraine deal remain unclear. Critics, including Dutch MEP Thijs Reuten, have condemned Trump's approach as heavy-handed.
