The ACM needs to become a self-governing body, as its current structure is too intertwined with the Economy Ministry. Issues include insufficient operational efficiency, lack of budgetary freedom, and a decline in competition oversight. The ACM is also adapting to new digital legislation, but faces challenges in its merger and acquisition oversight. An improvement process has been initiated, with changes to the ACM's structure expected after the upcoming parliamentary election.
