Two European satellites were launched from India to create artificial solar eclipses for scientific study. The mission, called Proba-3, aims to allow prolonged observation of the Sun's corona by blocking its light for six hours at a time. The satellites will operate autonomously and require extreme precision in their formation flying. The mission is expected to provide significant insights into solar phenomena over a two-year period.
