Passenger car registrations in the EU fell by 2.6% in January, reaching a four-month low of 831,201 units, primarily due to declines in France and Italy. However, battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales surged by 34%, accounting for 15% of the market. Hybrid-electric vehicle registrations increased by 18.4%, driven by strong performance in France and Spain, while plug-in hybrids saw a decline.
