The summer of 2018 marked a significant upheaval in Hungary's foreign intelligence agency, the Information Office (IH), following the ousting of János Lázár and the appointment of Péter Szijjártó as overseer. A task force from the Ministry of Interior conducted a controversial raid on the IH, seeking documents related to government-aligned business figures, particularly concerning the Prime Minister's family. Despite extensive searches, the task force found little, raising suspicions of illegal surveillance practices.
