The EU will launch the Entry/Exit System (EES) for non-EU travelers this year, followed by the ETIAS travel permit, which will be mandatory by 2027. The ETIAS requires an online application and a €7 fee, valid for three years. The rollout of both systems has faced delays, with the EES expected to start in October 2025 and the ETIAS in late 2026.
