The EU is sending two epidemiologists to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to enhance the response to the ongoing Ebola outbreak, which has resulted in over 7,600 confirmed cases and more than 3,670 deaths. Concurrently, the World Health Organisation has initiated clinical trials for the Ervebo vaccine to assess its effectiveness against the Bundibugyo virus.
