A report by Foodrise reveals that EU subsidies disproportionately favor climate-damaging animal-sourced foods over plant-based options, with 77% of CAP subsidies going to high-emission foods like beef and dairy. This practice is criticized as scandalous and unfair, as it contradicts EU health and climate goals. Advocates call for a shift towards supporting plant-rich diets and a fairer distribution of subsidies.
