EU to vote on South America trade deal with safeguards for farmers
Cikk tartalma röviden
The EU is set to vote on a significant trade deal with the Mercosur bloc (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay), which aims to create a free-trade area for 700 million people. While some countries, like France and Poland, express concerns over the impact on local farmers, supporters argue it will expand trade partnerships and reduce reliance on US tariffs. The deal includes safeguards for farmers and aims to eliminate tariffs on 91% of EU goods. However, there are worries about the effects of cheaper imports on the EU agricultural sector.
