The film 'It Was Just An Accident' by Jafar Panahi explores the trauma of Vahid, a former prisoner who confronts his torturer after hearing a sound associated with his past. The narrative unfolds as Vahid seeks confirmation of his torturer's identity while grappling with themes of revenge, memory, and the consequences of violence. The film, shot secretly due to Panahi's imprisonment, combines dark comedy with a critique of state repression, culminating in a powerful final scene. It won the Palme d'Or at Cannes and is noted for its artistic and political significance.
