Parts of Europe are expected to experience a colder winter than last year, particularly in France, the UK, and Scandinavia, while southeast Europe and Spain remain warm. Meteorologists attribute this to the La Niña phenomenon, which may lead to lower temperatures but possibly still above long-term averages. Storms from the Atlantic are also complicating weather predictions. La Niña, characterized by cooler sea surface temperatures in the Pacific, is predicted to have a 60% chance of affecting Europe this winter, leading to colder and wetter conditions, especially in the Alps. Climate change is exacerbating weather extremes, making future predictions challenging. Teljes cikk (Euronews.com)
