The European Commissioner for Defence, Andrius Kubilius, emphasized the urgent need for Europe to expand missile production to meet its own and Ukraine's defense needs due to increasing pressure on global weapons supply chains from US operations in the Middle East. He highlighted Ukraine's significant missile requirements and the challenges in meeting them, particularly with air defense systems. The situation is deemed critical, with calls for a more independent European defense industry and new financing tools to support Ukraine's military needs.
