Europe's largest battery storage project is underway at Coalburn in South Lanarkshire, aiming to store enough electricity to power three million homes. The project, developed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, will enhance energy security and support the UK's clean power goals by 2030 and net-zero carbon economy by 2050. The facility will be charged using excess wind power and is expected to be operational later this year, with full capacity by 2027. Teljes cikk (bbc.com europe)
