Eli Lilly's experimental once-daily pill, orforglipron, shows promise in aiding weight loss and lowering blood sugar in type 2 diabetes patients. In a clinical trial, participants taking the pill lost an average of 7.9% of their body weight, compared to 1.6% for those on a placebo. The drug is easier to administer than other GLP-1 medications, which require injections. Initial findings are encouraging, but further data is awaited for comprehensive evaluation.
