An experimental treatment using the anti-amyloid drug gantenerumab showed promising results in reducing the risk of Alzheimer's symptoms in asymptomatic patients with genetic mutations. A study of 22 patients revealed that treatment for eight years reduced their risk from 100% to about 50%. While the findings are exciting, limitations include the small sample size and the drug's lesser effectiveness compared to other treatments.
