The Vatican is celebrating the 400th anniversary of St. Peter’s Basilica's consecration with various visitor-friendly initiatives, including expanded access to the terrace and snack bar, a new online reservation system, and translations for Masses in 60 languages. A permanent exhibition on the basilica's history is also being introduced. Some media have questioned the appropriateness of serving food at such a sacred site, but Cardinal Mauro Gambetti supports the idea. The initiatives are sponsored by ENI to honor the basilica's consecration in 1626.
