Mzia Amaglobeli, a Georgian journalist, has been on a hunger strike for over two weeks, facing serious health risks after her arrest for allegedly slapping a police chief during protests against government repression. Her case has sparked national protests and concerns from human rights organizations about her treatment in custody. Critics accuse the ruling party of authoritarianism and repression, particularly against journalists and activists. The situation reflects broader political turmoil in Georgia following disputed elections and a crackdown on dissent.
