Finland's Air Force, now part of NATO, is phasing out swastikas from unit flags to avoid awkwardness with Western allies. The symbol has a complex history, being used by the Finnish air force since 1918, long before Nazi Germany. Despite previous insistence that the swastikas had no Nazi connection, the decision to remove them aligns with Finland's integration into NATO and aims to update the Air Force's identity.
