The first asylum seekers from Italy arrived in Albania for processing at the port of Shengjin. Sixteen men, including 10 Bangladeshi and six Egyptian nationals, will undergo health screenings before being moved to a reception camp in Gjader. Italy has opened two centres in Albania to process asylum applications as part of a five-year agreement with Albania. The centres will only accommodate adult men, while vulnerable groups will be housed in Italy.
