Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander successfully landed on the moon, marking the first private company to achieve this feat. The lander carried various experiments for NASA, including a drill and vacuum for lunar analysis. The mission aims to stimulate a lunar economy with more private ventures expected to follow. Other companies, like Intuitive Machines and ispace, are also preparing for lunar landings. NASA plans to maintain a pace of two private lunar landers annually, despite the challenges and potential failures.
